As Yamaha’s reputation grew in North America and demand increased, they started building pianos in the US in the early 1970’s when they purchased the Everett Piano Company in South Haven, MI. Even as American production grew, the traditional vertical pianos were also still made in Japan. We don’t see many of these, especially in such good condition.
The Japanese consoles tended to have more elaborate cabinet details than their future American counterparts. They were extremely well-made and were terrific values, competing successfully against the other well-known American builders of the time.
This traditional dark oak console was kept in great condition and will provide many years of reliable musical service to its new owners – perfect for a beginner or casual player on a budget that still demands high quality.
