Loving Pianos for Four Generations
A family heritage
Over the past eleven years, PianoWerkes has grown to become one of the largest piano dealers in the Southwest. Although PianoWerkes is a locally operated New Mexico business, we are proud to be part of the Classic Piano family of dealers.
PianoWerkes is the realization of a 25-year collaboration between Neal Hickson, Maurice Unis, and a national team of piano specialists. Neal is an accomplished pianist and experienced sales counselor with over 30 years of experience nationally in the piano industry. Since 1995, he has worked with Maurice, president of Forte Marketing Group and Classic Pianos of Portland, Oregon. Neal has been the moving force behind the 2009 formation of PianoWerkes. They first met in New Mexico while working on behalf of Yamaha and Steinway dealers coast-to-coast conducting fundraisers for arts organizations and universities (e.g., symphony orchestras, opera companies, university music departments, and charitable foundations).
Classic Pianos is a fourth-generation piano-business-family with a U.S. team of piano experts who have garnered an award-winning national reputation for integrity and partnership in the musical communities they serve. Classic Pianos and PianoWerkes have received the highest recognition from the piano manufacturers they represent. Yamaha ― Distinguished Diamond Top Dealer Award for Sales and Artistic Yamaha Representation; Schimmel ― Top Dealer Award for Outstanding Sales & Service; and Estonia ― Number one dealer in North America.
Through this partnership and shared passion for pianos, PianoWerkes can offer its New Mexico clients the most comprehensive and diverse selection of quality pianos imaginable in every price range with access to over 300 new and used pianos at all times.
PianoWerkes proudly partners with many arts groups and institutions in New Mexico and has become a “go-to” piano resource for teachers, educators, and pianists of every level.
