Yet another originally German piano maker that ended up being sold to other business interests, Perzina was founded in Schwerin, Germany in 1871. After WWII, as manufacturing increased, it moved to a larger factory in Lenzen, Germany. In the early 1990s the company was purchased by the Dutch company Music Brokers Int’l., who continued production in Lenzen until 2003 when a joint venture was formed with a Chinese company in Yantai, where the new factory was built.
Like most of the former Europe-to-China transitions, the modern Perzina pianos are made with many imported European components and are very respectable instruments.
This 51” GP129 is a full upright scale, with a soundboard and bass string lengths similar in size to a small conservatory grand, giving it a big, broad dynamic range and a beefy bass.
For a beginner or intermediate player on a budget looking for a bigger sound, this is a great choice.
