We think the American-built Yamaha console pianos are one of the best small vertical piano lines to be produced in the recent past. They play and sound much more like a professional studio piano, with a precise touch and a surprisingly full bass and midrange. And a used one, in good condition, is a tremendous value for someone looking for a great first piano.
This Gallery style piano came from the former Everett factory in South Haven, MI., that Yamaha purchased in the early 1970s. Everett was known for their high-quality construction; their studio models were found in music schools and teaching studios across the country.
This M27 model is a little unusual in that it has a pecan veneer and a mid-century style music rack – we don’t see these very often.
For a beginner or casual player looking for great quality and a traditional, American-made instrument, this is a great choice.
