Wm. Knabe & Co., founded in Baltimore in the mid 19th Century,  was another of the great innovative piano makers hailing from the American North East.  And like many of these companies, its ownership changed hands several times during economic downturns in the US.  The name is currently owned by Samick, a huge instrument manufacturer from S. Korea.

This was Knabe’s 46” professional institutional studio model, built in the USA, during the mid-80’s.  These were very well-made, intended to withstand the rigors of institutional use and frequent playing.  Like Baldwin and Steinway, they were often part of the practice fleet of vertical pianos found in hundreds of music schools across the US.

For a serious beginner to intermediate pianist, this would be an excellent choice.  It was privately owned by a family who kept it in great condition with relatively light use.
